In addition to being ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 13485:2003 compliant our manufacturing utilizes "clean techniques" in sealed positive pressure, clean areas. Resins used by Axygen are USP Class IV or IV compliant, RoHS compliant and do not exceed the designated levels of restricted substances as defined in the European Directive 2002/95/EC.

Axygen also certifies that none of Axygen products contain Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) as listed by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) under the provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the council concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) per the ECHA 19/12/2011 and previous updates. In addition, heavy metals are not used in the manufacture of or the formulation of this product and products meet the CONEG requirements of less than 100 ppm by weight for lead, mercury, cadmium and hexavalent chromium. Maxymum Recovery

Utilizing a unique manufacturing process, the Axygen® Maxymum Recovery range offers an innovative series of pipet tips, filter tips, PCR products and microcentrifuge tubes that feature ultra-smooth surfaces. A properly maintained and calibrated pipettor is capable of delivering fluids within 1% of the requested volume. However, variations introduced as a result of poor performance from inferior tips can increase the error rate. Diamond-Polished Molding Technology

Photographic image of a single molding element at 5x shows the mirror-like finish typical of all Axygen molds. Such smooth surfaces facilitate the release of the tip from the mold, eliminating the need for releasing fluids which can cause contamination.

Surface Comparison of Polypropylene Materials

These images show a visual comparison of a Maxymum Recovery pipet tip internal surface compared to the surface of both standard polypropylene pipet tips and siliconized pipet tips. The photographs below were taken of the internal surface of sections cut from three styles of pipet tips, via SEM/EDS. Magnification levels ranged from 50x to 5,000x.

Maxymum Recovery Pipet Tips

The Axygen Maxymum Recovery surface, even at the highest magnification level, the ultra-smooth surface is visibly free of occlusions and cavities which can cause sample retention and sample denaturation in standard polypropylene. See Figures 1a, 1b, and 1c.

Conventional Pipet Tips

The internal surface of a standard polypropylene pipet tip shows occlusions and cavities can be seen on the wall surface. At the highest magnification, surface strands, which cause samples to ‘stick’, are clearly visible. See Figures 2a, 2b, and 2c.

Siliconized Pipet Tips

The siliconized pipet tip shows a lack of smoothness of the walls created by an inconsistent and uneven flow of silicone upon the surface. Sample retention occurs even with siliconized pipet tips. See Figures 3a, 3b, and 3c.
